The minutes of the regular meeting of January 19, 2012 were reviewed and approved.

            The commissioners approved the nomination of Mike Gebhardt to the Roberts Water and Sewer Board for a term of four years which expires December 31, 2015; Bruce Phillips did not run in the November 2011 election.
            The commissioners appointed  the following citizens to various boards:

            Pam Schwend, Safety Coordinator, met with the commissioners to review and update them on the safety program.  Pam had met with Emelia McEwen, state safety coordinator for MACo earlier in the month; the county is still lacking on fulfilling some of the requirements for achieving a full discount (5%) on workers’ comp premiums.  There was much discussion regarding what the county is currently doing and what more should be done.  Pam also works full-time as the Weed Department secretary so needed instruction from the commissioners as to how much time she can spend on the safety program.  They also discussed the upcoming inspection by the Department of Labor.
            After the safety discussion, the commissioners reviewed with Pam the job descriptions for the Weed Department.
